Idea Star Singer

This time I am going to write about Idea Star Singer. This is one serial which has drastically increased the TRP ratings of Asianet. In fact this is the only program that has been able to take Asianet to a level  never seen before.

When two malayalees meet, Idea star singer would definitely figure in their discussions. Some might like it or some might hate it but everybody knows it.  It has made everyone aware about the nuances in music. The major credit would go to its judges, anchor, orchestra, the set and most of all the contestants. Like I mentioned earlier about the judges and the depth that they dvelve while discussing about a participant's performance has exposed the public to the nuances of music. We have a more musically aware public now and hopefully a more tranquil one.

The anchor Ms.Renjani, with an in your face attitude, is the fulcrum of the show. Even though she invited a lot of flak initially, thanks to her unique body language and "manglish", has proven that she has a lot of grit. When the second season took off I was disappointed to discover that she had been replaced. But the disapontment did not last for long as we all know.  She has given the malayalee women a new role model. One with oomph and confidence.

With Sharath and Didi  coming back the show is in full swing. I do miss M.G. Sreekumar but I guess Mr.Ouseppachan with his unique "jokes" makes up for his absence. Unnikrishnan appears somewhat subdued but I guess we are still a long way off to conclude for sure.

Of course the contestants are really cool and talented. Last season's contestants have left us with unforgettable memories. Najim, Tushar, Durga, Arun, Amrutha, Vani, Hisham, Roshan, Vijay, Binita, Tinu, Sanny, etc.. took us on a magical musical journey that we can never forget. A big thank you to all of them and to Asianet.

I am sure that I will not be disappointed by this season's contestants and I wish them all the best.

Manasa-putri

Hi! To everyone. I am starting my first post with a review on a malayalam serial which is very popular among malayalees around the globe. I hope you like it.

Manasaputhri by Baiju Devaraj

Lead actors:
  • Sreenath

  • Sona Nair
  • Sree Kala
  • Rajiv
  • Archana
  • Jayan

Its the numero uno among mallu serials as of now. It's a serial which caters to the old and young alike. Even though the story and the script have a major role in making this serial a money spinner for the channel, I believe that the casting is the strongest aspect of this serial.

The serial has all that an average viewer would expect and it leaves you spell bound in 30 minutes of its viewing. Each character leaves a deep impression in your mind and the lead protagonists are really good.

I have observed many viewers becoming deeply involved so much so that each dialogue made by the characters have a major effect on them.

I am not going to go into the details of the story, I would rather hope that the reader take some time and watch the serial, without any pretensions, and then come to their own conclusions. I like the serial and that is that.
